Michael W. Scheiern
In Loving Memory of
Michael Wayne Scheiern
Dear friend, I am writing this in the hope that you will take the time to sit down and read this carefully. I don't know what is happening in your life right now. You may be on top of the world with no problems whatsoever or you may have many things that are making you sad. Whatever situation you may be in there is one undeniable fact and that fact is that one-day you will die. You may think well I don't need to worry about that I am still young and have a long way to go, well that may be and it may not. The future no one knows. What happens when we die? Does it just go black and that’s it? I believe that we are made up of flesh, spirit and soul and that when we die our spirit and soul will continue to live. Now I believe this because I believe there is a God and that he sent his son to teach us (the Bible) before he was sacrificed to make a way for us to live with him in Heaven. Now before you dismiss me as just some religious zealot please hear me out. I was raised in a home where we went to church. As I grew I learned all about Christianity. At the age of sixteen I started to do drugs and started drinking. To make a long story short after about thirty years of drug and alcohol abuse I was going to die from liver failure. I had for a long time a feeling of a deep emptiness within me. No matter how much I tried to fill that emptiness with drugs or alcohol it would not go away. I ended up getting so sick that I could not even eat meat. I would get sick and vomit whatever I had tried to eat back up. My diseased liver was not producing bile, which is released from the liver, and causes food to be digested. Fortunately I had family who "steered" me to church. I asked Jesus for forgiveness and the emptiness that I had felt for so long was gone! I felt like a hundred pounds had just been lifted from my shoulders! The next week the elders of the church prayed for my healing and that very same night I went out and got me a double cheeseburger. Guess what? I didn't get sick. I didn't vomit. I had been healed. I now eat like any normal healthy human being. This is why I know there is a God and He loves us. Now in the Bible we are told how we all have sinned. No exceptions. We are born sinners. God cannot have any sin near Him. That is why we must be "cleansed" before we die. Once we die there is no second chance. God has prepared a place for the people who have been cleansed and that place is Heaven. However, because He cannot allow any sin to co-exist with Him He had to also prepare a place for the ones who have not and that place is called Hell. You see God had created us because He needed someone to share His love with and to have someone, who would, of his or her own free will, love Him back. He gave us free will so that we would not be like robots programmed to love Him. God loves you. I mean He loves you. He does not rejoice when someone dies and had not asked for forgiveness of their sins and is bound for Hell forever but by His own law He cannot interfere with your will to choose whom you will serve. Think about this, You are just one heartbeat away from eternity. Your next breath could be your last! I am convinced you reading this letter is no accident. God is trying to reach out to you. He wants you to choose Him and be saved from going to Hell. There is only one way to be saved from going to Hell. You must ask Jesus to forgive you of your sins. The Bible says there is but one way to God (Salvation, forgiveness) and that is thru His son Jesus. I want to give to you what is called the sinner's prayer. If you pray this and mean it with all of your heart you will be saved. Your life will never be the same. It goes like this:
"Dear Jesus I know I am a sinner. I believe that you are the Son of God and that you went to the cross to die for me so that I may be saved. I believe that you rose from the grave. I, with all my heart, ask you to please forgive me of all my sins. Come into my heart and I will serve you forever."
Friend if you said that prayer and really meant it you have been saved. I encourage you to attend church. This way you can grow in your spirit as you learn more about Jesus and his father. That we assemble together is also commanded in the Bible. It is really for your own good as other believers can help and encourage you. Like I said at the beginning I don't know what troubles or problems you are facing in your life. I do know there is one who wants to walk along your side, to help you, to give you peace, to love you, to heal you, help you deal with the stress of this world and save you from eternal separation from God who created you. His name Is Jesus. Say that sinner's prayer and mean it friend. You'll see it will the best decision you will make in your entire life.
